Horse Sculpture Dansk Varmblod bronze Life-size

A milestone in Brigitte’s career: in 2019, she was commissioned by Dansk Varmblod (the Danish Warmblood Association) to create a bronze sculpture in honor of their 40th anniversary. The work – a mare with foal in bronze – was officially unveiled in August 2019 at the National Equestrian Centre Vilhelmsborg in Mårslet, Denmark.

For Brigitte, it was a true honor to create such a symbolic piece for one of Europe’s leading warmblood registries. “The trust they placed in me to represent the soul of their breeding tradition moved me deeply,” she says. “A mare and foal symbolize strength, care, and the future – values that unite breeders, riders, and horse lovers.”

The sculpture was entirely hand-modeled in wax and cast in bronze using the traditional cire-perdue (lost-wax) technique. This allowed Brigitte to capture every detail: the tension in the mare’s body, the playful stance of the foal, and the tender bond between the two. The result is a work of art that radiates both energy and affection.

The choice of a mare with foal was deliberate: it reflects not only the future of the breed but also the dedication of breeders who raise horses with care and vision. For Dansk Varmblod, the sculpture is a lasting tribute to generations of horsemen and women.
