On a beautiful autumn afternoon, the life-size bronze horse statue Ballade was unveiled at the Brigitte Boss Museum in Ermelo. The statue, which depicts a majestic mare and her playful foal, attracted a large and varied audience. Art lovers, horse lovers and admirers of Brigitte Boss gathered to celebrate this special moment.
Ballad is more than just an artistic representation of a mare and her foal. Brigitte Boss shares her personal journey during the creation process during the unveiling:
‘While creating Ballad, as with all my works, I made choices to turn on or leave out details. My goal was to merge love and art. Love for nature, love for the horse and love for the creative craft form the basis of this sculpture.’
With Ballade, Equine Artist Brigitte Boss wants to create more than a moment of admiration. She hopes that the sculpture touches the viewer through its simplicity and depth, through the subtle balance between strength and vulnerability, between eternity and transience. The sculpture invites us to reflect on the growth of life, but also on our own strength, which lies in our vulnerability.
